Description

This tour covers the main highlights of the west half to São Miguel island, including Sete Cidades, Fogo lake, Caldeira Velha, Ribeira Grande and the pineapple greenhouses. Combine it with our East Tour, to see the whole island in only 2 days!

Start the day with a visit to the pineapple greenhouses, in the surroundings of Ponta Delgada, to learn all about the unique growing process of the Azorean pineapple.

Leave the city towards Sete Cidades, stopping in little-known small crater lakes of great beauty and enjoying ample views of the island. Go on a short walk to reach the incredible lookout of Boca do Inferno, with a very special view over the caldera of Sete Cidades.

Next visit the "King's view", the main postcard of the Azores, with a perfect perspective over the large Sete Cidades lakes. Reach the westernmost point of the island where lay the beautiful rocks of Mosteiros.

After a lunch of delicious authentic Azorean food, visit the town of Ribeira Grande and see the most beautiful cliffs of the island in the north coast. Explore Caldeira Velha, an exotic place of dense vegetation and thermals springs. End the day in beauty with views of Fogo Lake, the most isolated and well preserved lake of São Miguel.
