Description

This is an easy and relatively short 4km walk, but one of the best coastal ones you can do in the Azores!

The trail is located on the north of Terceira island, where the coastline is more rugged and spectacular than on the south. You will be walking in and out along the irregular shoreline, discovering little-known bays on the way.

The eroded volcanic rocks make nice shapes and formations. The ocean waves are often powerful and watching them crash into the rocks adds to the beauty of the scene.

Some sections of the trail go a little more inland, immediately switching the landscape to the typical fresh lushness of the Azores, providing a nice contrast with the ocean views.

Some interesting coastal plant species can be encountered along the way. Your expert guide will make sure you learn all about them and the geological events that led to such beautiful scenery.
